Temporary Design Option Details
Since I have not yet been able to upload all of the design options, I decided to make a list which is accessible on the blog. This will give you a good idea of the options until I am able to upload all the choices to the website.
Basic Styles
-
Plain - flat card with only printing
-
Layered - two (or more) flat papers held together loosely by tied ribbon; usually the top layer is vellum, so that you can see the layer beneath
-
Simple - vellum tied on top of printed invitation
-
Invitation Overlay - wording printed on vellum, tied on top of patterned or solid paper
-
Image Overlay - faint image or monogram printed on vellum, tied on top of printed invitation
-
-
Bordered - flat card mounted on patterned paper or solid colored paper, border can be any width; Variations:
-
Single border - card mounted on one backing; Example http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/04.jpg
-
Double border - card mounted on backing and then on 2nd backing; Example http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/05.jpg
-
Corners - card mounted to backing using colored photo corners
-
-
Belted - flat card with a paper â€belt†around the entire card, belt can be movable or fixed, wide/translucent or thin/solid; example http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/03.jpg; Variations:
-
Plain - card with belt
-
Belt and Border - bordered card with belt
-
-
Matchbook - card enclosed in matchbook-style cover with ribbon tied at the bottom; example http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/02.jpg
-
Folded Card - probably self-explanatory :); example http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/10.jpg; Variations:
-
Simple - one fold, with four viewable panels
-
“Z†- two opposite folds to create a z-shape, with six viewable panels (example above is a “Z†which uses only four panels)
-
“Double Door†- opens from the center like a double door
-
Booklet - basically 2 or 3 simple folded cards bound together on the edge to form a booklet
-
-
Accordion - this is VERY hard to describe, so I will make a sample to post on the web sometime soon. It basically creates several panels between the two covers which create space for invitation info/wording, but it is particularly suited to displaying several photos (like for a baby announcement :).
Sizes - basic sizes which fit in standard envelopes
- 4bar - 3.5″ x 5″
- A2 - 4.25″ x 5.5″ (one fourth of a standard sheet of paper)
- A6 - 4″ x 6″
- A7 - 5″ x 7″
- A9 - 6″ x 9″
- Small Square - 5.5″ x 5.5″
- Large Square - 6.25″ x 6.25″
- #10 - 3 7/8″ x 9 1/4″
- I can create invitations in custom sizes and shapes, but custom sizes will almost always require a custom envelope.
Extras - These upgrades can be added to almost any basic design, in almost any combination, to create a truly custom product, just for you.
-
Enclosures - these enclosures can be used purely for design purposes or functionally in exchange for an inner envelope; either way, they add another level of “Wow!†to your invitations.
-
Available - sleeve, pointed pochette, rounded pochette, straight-lined pochette, pocket-folder with no flap, pocket-folder with flapÂ
-
Example - straight-lined pochette enclosure: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/07.jpg
-
Example - simple sleeve: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/09.jpg
-
Example - mounted sleeve (can also mount on the back of a flat invitation as a place to keep all additional rsvp cards, etc.): http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/10.jpg
-
Example - pocket-folder with flap: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/11.jpg
-
-
Ribbon - ribbon is included in the basic design for “matchbook†and “layered†styles, but can also be added to almost any other style.
-
Example - adding a simply grosgrain knot to the middle of this single border invitation is a stunning statement: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/09.jpg
-
Example - tying an organza ribbon around this pocket-folder invitation helps keep all the pieces in place: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/11.jpg
-
Example - adding a second layer of organza ribbon: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/01.jpg
-
-
Additional Cards - in some cases, additional cards are required for the occassion - such as a response card with a small envelope for a wedding - and those will be included in the price quoted, but you may have some other ideas of how to use additional cards for your invitation
-
Example - adding a matching mounted reception card and/or map to a wedding invitation
-
Example - by adding a separate card with registry information to this matchbook shower invitation, we have added another level of elegance as well as convenience for the guests: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/02.jpg
-
Example - including a mounted photo of your newborn baby with your baby announcement

-
-
Upgraded envelopes - you have the option for simple white or cream envelopes included with each invitation order, but you can also choose to upgrade to:
-
colored envelopes in almost all sizes
-
inner/outer envelope set for formal invitations - available in smooth white or cream, or an even further upgrade to textured white or cream
-
envelope liner - if you would like a “customized†envelope without paying the high price for custom-made envelopes, an envelope liner is a good compromise
-
custom-made envelopes - you can choose almost any paper available, and I will be happy to create custom-made envelopes to match your invitations exactly; Example http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/08.jpg
-
envelope printing - at your request, I will print return addresses on envelopes, or I can even print your guests’ addresses if you would like
-
-
Printed design - all printed text on the invitations is included in the price, but if you would like for me to design a monogram or logo or another image to print on your invitation, I will be happy to do that for you.
-
Example - there will be a small extra charge for printing a customer-supplied image (like a logo)
-
Example - there will be a larger charge for printing a monogram, image, or logo which I design for you; Examples http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/06.jpg & http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/05.jpg
-
-
Mounted Design - any design (printed monogram or logo, patterned paper, or a photo) which is mounted to the face of the invitation
-
Example - printed outline of pillow on patterned paper, cut out, and then mounted: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/08.jpg
-
Example - square of patterned paper with colored cardstock border mounted on face of invitation and also on included recipe card: http://www.simplyrosy.com/images/product/10.jpg
-
Papers - Of course, one of the most important choices is seeing exactly which papers are available. 13 patterned papers are used in the available samples http://www.simplyrosy.com/inviteall.htm.Â
For now, I will most likely ask you what patterns and colors you are interested in. Then, I will email you 10-15 electronic paper swatches. Hopefully you will like one of those, and if not, then I’ll just repeat the process with new swatches until we find the perfect paper! (Also remember that I am willing to use patterned paper that you have found locally near you.)
Papers which I am planning to offer:
- SEVERAL different patterned scrapbook papers;
- International printed papers (from Italy, Japan, and elsewhere)
- Solid cardstock - both smooth and in different textures, and MANY more!
Hopefully this LONG list gives you a good idea of what I offer, and of course let me know if you have any questions!
